Jane (Baker) Barnes

Jane Barnes passed away peacefully on June 22, 2022 surrounded by her family. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 14, 1946, she graduated from St. Pius X High School and from Georgia State University. She married Francis (Frank) Barnes, Jr. in 1969 and settled in Union Point where she lived until her death. Together, they ran Barnes TV and Appliance for many years.

When Frank suffered a serious plane accident in 1976, Jane kept the family together while helping him recover. She enjoyed shopping and lunching with friends and family. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Jane is survived by her three children, Julia Barnes (Tom Bavis), Francis (Bud) Barnes III (Theodora Dragostinova), and Mary Katherine Barnes; her grandchildren, Alex, Daniel, and KatyJane; her sisters, Mary Culwell and Joan MacIntosh (son Stan and grandson Riley); her sister-in-law, Lucy McDowell; her brother-in-law, Joe Barnes; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; her son, Henry Jefferson Barnes; her brother-in-law, Peter Culwell; her sister-in-law, Phyllis Ramsey; her brother-in-law, Henry Barnes; and her niece, Sharon Young.
  
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 26th, at 2:00pm at the Union Point Presbyterian Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in the memory of Jane Barnes to the Henry Jefferson Barnes Memorial Scholarship Endowment.
