James Robert “Bobby” Vaughn
 
James Robert “Bobby” Vaughn of the Macedonia Community in Oglethorpe County passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Greene Point Health Care & Rehabilitation.  He was 87.  Bobby was born on September 13, 1932 in Maxeys, GA, one of four sons born to the late Joseph Lee Vaughn and Kathryn Myrt Smith Vaughn.  He graduated from Washington High School in Wilkes County and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.  He was the owner of Vaughn’s construction and built many of the homes in Greene County.  Bobby married the former Frances Rhodes on June 3, 1955 and they had celebrated their sixtieth anniversary when she passed away in 2015.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point.
 
In addition to his wife Frances Vaughn, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Carol Swilley; all of his siblings, William Paschal Vaughn as an infant, Joseph “Joe” Vaughn and John D. “Jack” Vaughn. He is survived by a daughter, Debra Vaughn Fleeman and her husband Lavern of the Macedonia Community; grandchildren, Byron Fleeman, Alan Fleeman and his wife Melena, Jason Fleeman and his wife Amanda, Eric Fleeman and his wife LuAnn,  and her son Cole, and Renee Davenport and her husband Kenny; great grandchildren, Hayden, Caitlin, Amber, Hailey, Alexis, Samuel, Hannah and Carter Fleeman and Nathan and Autumn Davenport; great great grandchild, Layla Fleeman; other relatives and friends. 
 
The family will hold a private Memorial Service and Celebration of his Life at a later date.  The family requests that any memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, 206 Thornton Street, Union Point, GA 30669.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
