James "Jimmy" Martin Simpson

James Martin “Jimmy” Simpson of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, October 28, 2022 at Piedmont Athens Regional in Athens, Georgia. He was 54 years old. A lifelong resident of Greene County, Jimmy was born on July 11, 1968 in Greensboro, Georgia to Alexander Carter Simpson and the late Sara Louise Martin Simpson.  He attended Greene County High School and was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.  When he was younger he loved to tinker with anything and later enjoyed listening to music and loved to read.  Growing up with three brothers, he always enjoyed doing anything with them. Jimmy touched the lives of many and will truly be missed by his family and friends. 

Jimmy is survived by his father, Alexander Carter “Alec” Simpson, of Greensboro, Georgia; brothers, Michael Alexander Simpson, Joseph Lewis Simpson and Richard Dean Simpson; nieces, Jennifer, Amanda and Wendy Simpson; a number of cousins; other relatives, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Louise Martin Simpson and his nephew, Jeremy Michael Simpson.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 3051 Bethany Church Road, Greensboro GA 30642 with Rev. Reggie Haslett officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service at Bethany Presbyterian Church.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
