J. T. Meadows

J. T. Meadows, age 87, of Union Point, Georgia, died on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospice House in Watkinsville, GA. Born September 29, 1933 in Winterville, GA he was one of eleven children born to the late Enoch Elijah Cicero Meadows and Annie Mae McIntire Meadows. When he was younger he worked in Eatonton at the Cotton Warehouse and later worked at Chipman Union in Union Point.  After retirement he enjoyed watching tv and gardening.

J. T. is survived by two daughters, Irene Elaine Williams (William) of Mitchell, GA and Martha Arlene Hartzell (Robert) of Eatonton, GA; son, Barry J. Meadows of Union Point, GA; two brothers, Hoyt Meadows of Eagle Lake, FL, and R. B. Meadows of Monroe, GA; four grandchildren, Jonathan Meadows, Bobby Joe and Stephanie Marie Mize and Victor Louis Alvarado; two great grandchildren, Constantine and Phoenix Alvarado; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Durham Meadows; seven brothers, Wayman Meadows, Willie Meadows, Harold Meadows, Mack Meadows, Frank Meadows, Carl Meadows and Otis Meadows; and a sister, Viola Epps.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Marc Lhowe officiating. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
