A lifelong resident of Greene County, he was born on November 24, 1939 to the late Chalmers Lee “Babe” Brown and Alpha Greeson Brown of Greshamville. He graduated from Greensboro High School in the class of 1958 and was a key member of the Tigers 1956 Region championship football team. He started racing dirt bikes in the early 1970s and continued to race until he was nearly 80, winning many championships.
He enjoyed many cross country rides on his Honda Goldwing with his wife Jo, venturing to places like the Grand Canyon, Tombstone Arizona, and Yellowstone National Park.
Clyde was a member of Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church. He and his wife were big supporters of Nathanael Greene Academy where they spent much of their time attending their children’s and grandchildren’s academic and sports activities.
His many interests included riding and racing motorcycles, tinkering on anything mechanical, woodworking and building furniture, and traveling with his wife.
Clyde was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being Pop Pop to his grandchildren.
