Hiram Michael Thurmond

Hiram Michael “Mike” Thurmond, age 52, of Greensboro, GA, died Saturday, March 26, 2005 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Greene County he was born October 19, 1952 to the late Hiram Mappin Thurmond and Dorothy Moon Thurmond. Mike enjoyed diet cokes, listening to the radio, golf, ballgames and riding around with his sunglasses on. He is survived by two sisters, Pat Beechy and husband Vern of Lockport, IL and Kim Reid and husband Michael of Greensboro, GA; a brother, Chris Thurmond of Milledgeville, GA; special friends, Lynn Callaway and Susan Worthen; a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a dear friend and caregiver, Richard Ellis. Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at the Greensboro City Cemetery with Rev. Jim Olds officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Tony Moon, Tracy Jordan, Andrew Christopher, Kenny Worthen, Rosevelt Reid and Michael Reid.
