Hazel (Eady) Thompson

Hazel E. Thompson, 86, of Greensboro, GA, formerly of Senoia, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Glen at Lake Oconee Village. Born on February 19, 1938, in Senoia, GA, she was the daughter of the late Albert V. Eady and Jackie McCullough Eady.

Hazel dedicated nearly forty years to the banking industry, starting as a teller and ultimately becoming the Senior Vice President of Bank of Coweta in Senoia, GA. Known as the "first lady of banking" and affectionately referred to as "Miss Hazel" by her customers, she made a lasting impact on the community. She was a devoted member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church in Hampton and was previously active in Haralson Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her children, Walter Stanley Thompson of Key West, FL, and Michael and Janice Eady of Madison; her sisters, Dorothy E. Stanford of Dahlonega, GA, Bernice and Carl Crawford of Senoia, GA, Linda and James Sparacio of The Villages, FL, and Sharon Pritchett of Hayesville, NC; her grandchildren, Bradley Michael (Abby) Eady of Atlanta and Jana (Joao) Delgado of Marietta; and her great-grandchildren, Koa Delgado, Townes Eady, Reef Delgado, and a baby girl Eady on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter L. Thompson, her parents Albert and Jackie Eady, her sisters Ida Spratlin, Evelyn E. Miller, Barbara Price, and Betty Mills, and her brothers Joel Eady, George Eady, and Mercer Eady. 

Graveside Services will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Senoia City Cemetery, 719 Stallings Road, Senoia, GA 30276 with Larry Phillips officiating.
