Hattie Mae Ingram Stephens, age 91, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Tuesday, June 24, 2003. She was born in Walton County on May 1, 1912 to the late Lawrence Asbery Ingram and Onnie Jeanette Aaron Ingram. She attended Greensboro Schools and was a member of West End Baptist Church in Greensboro. She had worked as a weaver at Bibb Manufacturing in Porterdale, Walton Manufactuing in Monroe and Mary Leila Cotton Mill in Greensboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Roy Stephens, in January of 1979. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Branyan of Greensboro, Georgia, four sons, Gary Roy Stephens of Dallas, Georgia, Thomas Franklin Stephens of Greensboro, Georgia, Bobby Kent Stephens of Greensboro, Georgia, and Johnny Wayne Stephens of Greensboro, Georgia; two sisters, Frances Swords of Loganville, Georgia and Violet Head of Covington, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 27, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenview Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Usry and Rev. Tim Tabler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday night at the funeral home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Broad St., Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of arrangements.
