Gladys Beal Jordan of Greensboro, GA, died on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at her residence. She was 79. Born February 10, 1940 in Apalachee, GA she was the daughter of the late Joseph Wesley Beal and Dollie Mae Greeson Beal. She attended Greensboro High School and on August 19, 1966, she married William Doffice Jordan. During her working career she worked for Wellington Puritan Mills, ran a successful cleaning service, Gladys and Company, and a hot dog stand. Later Gladys and Doffice were the owners and operators of Docs Bar and Grill. Before she retired, she ran Jordan’s Country Store. Her many interests included gardening, reading and spending time with family and friends.
Gladys is survived by a sister, Sandra Jean Jordan; brother, David Beal; nieces, Sherrie Cooper and her husband Lafayette and Terrie Garcia and her husband Victor; a number of other nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Doffice Jordan; sons, Clifford Newsome and William Curtis Jordan; and brothers, Billy Beal and Faron Beal.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Dennis Stephens, D. J. Stephens, Jason Jordan, Jason Caudell, Wesley Gaines and Victor Garcia, Jr. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home.
