Gerald "Jerry" Dwyer Obituary

Gerald Allan “Jerry” Dwyer, age 85, of Eatonton, GA passed away on Thursday, October, 27, 2022. 

He was born on December 20, 1936 in Cleveland, OH to the late William Lenard Dwyer and Sunshine Glaser Dwyer. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, then went on to receive his Bachelor’s degree at Indiana State University, in Accounting and Business.

Jerry worked at United Airlines in Elk Grove Village, IL from November 1967 until retiring in May 1999. While at United, he met Leilani, and they married on August 29, 1986.

He has enjoyed living at Lake Oconee for the past twenty-three years, doing what he loved the most...golfing. He was a member of the Men’s Golf Association of Reynolds enjoying the camaraderie and competitiveness in the sport.  His other hobbies of interest were fishing and gardening, as well as his annual trips to one of his favorite cities, Las Vegas.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-six years, Leilani Dwyer of Eatonton, GA; daughter, Tina Deloncker (Michael) of Loudon, TN; stepdaughters, Nikki Wyllie (Scott) of Elmhurst, IL and Chrissy Gunn (Corey) of Elmhurst, IL; five grandchildren, Michael Deloncker (Meghan Seaborn), Hunter Wyllie, Elle Wyllie, Tegan Gunn, and Camden Gunn; great grandchild, Kai Onyx Deloncker; other relatives and many friends.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Father Michael Silloway officiating. Interment will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, GA.
