George Les Obituary

George Walter Les, of Greensboro, GA, died Thursday, September 8, 2022, at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro at the age of 73. George was born in Milwaukee, WI on May 17, 1949, to the late Stanley Les and Gertrude Staniszewski Les. He graduated from Pulaski High School in 1967, and Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1971 where he is an Alumni Association Member.  He proudly served in the United States Army National Guard for six years. George married Sandra Joyce Graham, his wife of 34 years, on July 20, 1988.

After a successful career with General Motors as a Management Engineer, he retired in 2004. In 2011 they moved from Indiana to Lake Oconee in Greensboro, GA where he had a variety of interests including golfing, shooting pool, boating, and reading the newspaper.  While living in Milwaukee, he was a member of St. Alberts Catholic Church.  He was also a proud member of the Northern Masonic Jurisdiction, USA, Scottish Rite, Shriners International, and The Muskego, WI Moose Lodge #1057. 

In addition to his wife, Sandra “Sandy” Les, he is survived by his step-daughter Tracy Foren and her husband James of Chesapeake, VA; step-son, Randal Stindle of Racine, WI; and two step-grandchildren, Jack and Julia Foren. Also surviving are nieces and their families. He was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Les and sister-in-law, Judith.

A Private Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of George Walter Les can be made to the Scottish Rite Children’s Medical Center, 3155 North Point Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30005.
