George Albert Gibson

George Albert Gibson of Greensboro, GA, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at home with his family after an extended illness.  He was 79.  Born in Atlanta, GA on December 28, 1942, he was the son of the late Raymond Reigh Gibson and Lena Ammons Gibson.  George graduated from Piedmont College on June 6, 1965 with a Bachelor of Science degree and August 19, 1966 from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.  On July 26, 1976, George married the former Lola Alexander.  After retiring from Dairyman, Inc. as a Lab Technician they lived in Greensboro.  He enjoyed buying old homes and spent much of his time working on them to be rented or sold.
 
In addition to his wife, Lola Gibson of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his daughter, Laura Burden (Scott); grandchildren, Kathryn Lynn “Katy” Burden, Adam Wayne Burden (Erica), and Brandon Bobby Burden (Brittney); great grandchildren, Aubrey Grace Burden and Dawson May Burden; and brothers, Reigh Gibson and Jack Gibson.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Gibson and sister, Liz Johnson.
