George Melville “Mel” Campbell Jr., age 76, of Greensboro, GA, died Wednesday, November 3, 2004 at Boswell Parker Nursing Center. Born July 30, 1928 in Bogota, New Jersey, he was the son of the late George M. Campbell, Sr. and Dorothy Walker Vrooman Campbell. He was a graduate of Washington College in Chesterville, MD and Colorado School of Trades in Denver Colorado. During the Korean War he served in the Air Force. As a master gunsmith he was the owner and operator of Valley Gunsmith in Chagrin Falls, OH. While in Ohio he was a scout master and commissor for Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his sister Jean C. Abell and husband Marshall of Greensboro, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Willow Run Retirement Home with the Rev. Dr. Ford G’Segner officiating. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
