Geneva Hubbard Taylor, age 77, of Waverly Hall, Georgia, formerly of Greensboro Georgia, died on Thursday, September 9, 2021. She was born in Oglethorpe County on August 25, 1944. Geneva was the daughter of the late Lincoln Hubbard and Stella Arnold Hubbard. Borom. Survivors include brothers, Charlie Hubbard and Herman Hubbard.
In 1962 she graduated from Alexander Stephens High School in Crawfordville, Georgia and attended Gainesville Junior College in Gainesville, Georgia. Geneva worked for the City of Greensboro as a clerk until she began work for the United States Department of Agriculture. Later she was selected by the Georgia State Committee Members to serve as County Executive Director with the USDA’s Farm Service Agency. She retired in February 2005 after 21 years of service.
Geneva was a loving mother, whose greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She was nicknamed “Pretty Gal” by her family, for obvious reasons. She was beautiful inside and out. In retirement she traveled to many fun places and thoroughly enjoyed life! She loved to make people laugh. She also found great joy in serving others. Later in life she volunteered with The Georgia Hospital Association, often dressing up as a clown to bring laughter to patients, nursing homes and shut ins. She thrived when she knew she could make someone feel better, even if for just a few moments. Her personality and smile were contagious. Geneva was blessed in the last year of her life to be surrounded by loving caregivers at Manor Lake and also from Bridgeway Hospice. The staff loved her and treated her like she was family. She truly felt loved and for that the family will be forever grateful.
