Gary Lynn Adair, age 55, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at his residence. Born in Mingo County, Matewan, West Virginia on July 23, 1952 he was the son of Helen Marie Boyd Hayden of Greensboro, GA and the late Johnny Adair, Sr. He graduated from North Marion High School in Florida and Cummins Diesel Engine School. He was an expert diesel mechanic and worked at several places including Capital City and Pennington Seed in Madison. He loved working with his hands and preaching the Gospel. He enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets and shopping for antiques. He was a founding member of Charity Old Regular Baptist Church where he served as the assistant moderator.
In addition to his mother, Helen Hayden and step father Roy Hayden of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his wife, Terri Young Adair of Greensboro, GA; four daughters, Nicole Mowery and husband Ricky of Ocala, FL, Nancy Reid and husband Tim of Ocala, FL, Faith Oliver and husband Billy of Pittsview, AL and Kayla Adair of Augusta, GA; three sisters, Sue Adair of Skipperville, AL, Nancy Brooks of Vero Beach, FL and Sandy Adair of Ocala, FL; two step sisters, Laurie Guerra of Tampa, FL and April Leda of Tampa, FL; a brother, Johnny Adair Jr. of Greensboro, GA; a step brother, Rick M. Hayden, of Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Charity Old Regular Baptist Church in Greensboro with Elder William Adair Sr. and Elder Richard Lowe officiating. Interment services will follow at the Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Zachary Adair, Chris Adair, Johnny Adair Jr., and Billy Oliver. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m to 7:00 p.m. Friday night at Charity Old Regular Baptist Church. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
