Gale Eidson Obituary

Gale Dean Eidson of Greensboro, GA, died Friday, August 16, 2024 at his residence with his beloved family. He was 84. A native of North Carolina, he was born in Elkin on June 21, 1940 to the late Fred Osborne and Hattybelle Greene Eidson. He was a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He proudly served his country in the National Guard. On July 8, 2011 he retired from Ross Lane and Company, LLC as a CPA. After marrying his wife Jean they spent their time in Atlanta until they retired and moved to Greene County. He thoroughly enjoyed the many functions at Capital City Club – Brookhaven in Atlanta and golfing was his favorite sport.  He was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro.

In addition to his wife, Jean Eidson of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his son, Eric Hunter Eidson of Kennesaw, GA; and his daughter, Deborah Chase Ashadale and her children, Michael and Rachael of Kennesaw, GA. He is also survived by Jean’s daughters, Caitlin Darby and husband Henry and their children Katherine and Ella of Greensboro, GA and Sarah Watkins Baxter and husband Joey of Larkspur, CA; brothers, Fred Eidson and Kent Eidson both of Elkin, NC; other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dianne Bumgarner.

Memorial Services will be held, Friday, August 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Episcopal Church of The Redeemer with Father Bill Combs officiating.
