Frankie Julia Allen Edwards of White Plains, GA, died on August 14, 2020 at the age of 87. She was born June 10, 1933 in Gibson, GA to the late John Pleasant and Hattie Nora Hawkins Allen. She worked and retired from the Greene Point Nursing Home as a dietician. Prior to that, she worked on the family’s dairy farm. She loved working in her yard and doing crafts. As long as eyesight permitted, she found great comfort in reading her Bible.
In addition to her parents Frankie was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Edwards; son, Gordon Cox; siblings: Kathleen Reese, Mary Williams, Willie Bell Reese, and George Allen; and great grandson Mikey Cox. She is survived by a son, Wynn Cox (Brenda) of White Plains, GA; grandchildren, Corey Cox (Kim) of Forsyth, GA, Brandon Cox of Eatonton, GA, Daniel Cox (Emily) of Gray, GA, John Cox (Tiffany) of Gray, GA, Christy Burgess (Scott) of Eatonton, GA; 10 great grandkids; 2 great, great grandkids; sisters, Ester Thompson of Macon, GA and Zylphia Reese of Gibson, GA; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church, Main Street, White Plains GA 30678, with Rev. Dennis Garner and Rev. Lee Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Eatonton Memorial Park, Godfrey Road, Eatonton, GA 31024. Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Lanier, James Coleman, Marvin Bell, David Price, Ike Moore and Mitchell Eley.
