Frances Lavonia Tenney Sellers, age 80, of Eatonton, Georgia, formerly of Union Point died Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Frances was born October 7, 1943, in Rockmart, GA to the late Steve and Frances Dingler Tenney. She graduated from Coweta County High School and on June 1, 1968 she married Jimmy Lee Sellers and they made their home in Union Point. She worked sewing at several local manufacturing companies and ended up at Chipman Union where she worked boarding socks until she had some health issues arise that made her take a few years off and just became a full time homemaker. She loved playing games and in her later years she enjoyed facebook where she could keep up with family and friends. Frances was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She grew up as a member of the Church of Christ in Newnan, GA.
She is survived by her son Gregory Sellers; daughters, Sharon Channell (Leighton) and Karen Phillips (Jimmy); grandchildren, Candace Nation (Derrick), Christopher Knight, Brelan Arledge (Cole), Alan Channell and Zach Phillips; great grandchildren, Justin Knight, Jacob Knight, Houston Channell, Jase Channell, Tyler McFarland, Thomas Arledge, Warren Nation, Lynn Nation, Eric Channell and Evan Channell; sister, Mamie Tenney; and brother, William “Hoppy” Tenny (Betty); a number of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Edna Greer, Jackie Tenney, Ronald Tenney and Marvin Tenney.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Dennis Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 10, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Derrick Nation, Alan Channell, Christopher Knight, Candace Nation, Brelan Arledge and Cole Arledge. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
