Frances Earlene King of Reynolds on Lake Oconee, Greensboro, GA passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 74. Born December 10, 1946 she was the daughter of the late Vernon D. McCall and Ima Joe Hallford McCall. She graduated from Permian High School in Odessa, TX and was a graduate of Texas Tech. On December 31, 1970 she married Marion Thomas King. Earlene was a teacher at Brookwood High School in Snellville, GA where she retired but also taught in Texas for many years. She was a member of Yellow River Baptist Tabernacle. In 2009, they moved to Reynolds in Greensboro, where she attended the Reynolds Book Club and the Bible study group at the First Presbyterian Church of Greensboro. Earlene was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Survivors include her husband of fifty years Marion Thomas King of Greensboro, GA; sons, Brandon King (Melanie) of Concord, NC and Chris King (Stephanie) of Buford, GA; brothers, Vernon Dee McCall of Tuscon, AZ and William Lee McCall of Shallowater, TX; sisters, Mary Ann Colson of Montgomery, TX and Bonnie Coleen Alverson of Sugar Land, TX; eleven grandchildren, Kyle, Kimberly, Kasey, Kevin, Alexis, Keltey Grace, Kara, Elizabeth, Kameron, Kristopher and Sarah; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held, Friday, January 22, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Mark Davis officiating. Interment will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2617 Vinson Highway, Milledgeville, GA 31061. The family will receive friends Friday from 2:30 p.m. until time for the service at the funeral home. The family request that in memory of Earlene a love offering be made to your church.
