Farrett Boswell Obituary

Farrett Taylor Boswell, of Watkinsville, GA, formerly of Greensboro, GA, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, July 9th, 2022, at the age of 52. Born in Greensboro, GA on March 1, 1970, he was the son of Kay Gentry Boswell of Greensboro, GA and the late Robert Lamar “Cotton” Boswell, Jr. In 1988, he graduated from Nathanael Greene Academy in Siloam, GA, where he lettered in football and track. He then attended Georgia Southern and later received a degree in forestry from ABAC. Farrett also attended Seminary in New Orleans. After graduating from college, Farrett faithfully worked for the family business, R.L. Boswell Logging, alongside his father, Cotton Boswell and brother George Boswell. While he worked in the logging business, he was also the preacher at Woodville Baptist Church. It was during this time that he met his wife Amy where God began to reveal their partnership in marriage and ministry. After his time at R.L. Boswell Logging and Woodville Baptist Church, he began praying about what God had next for his life. After searching for ministry opportunities, God presented the divine opportunity of teaching kids bible classes through Atlas Ministry. Further, God gave him the opportunity to return as an Associate Pastor at his home church, New Hope Baptist in Greshamville, GA. Most recently, he had been a teacher of history and bible classes at his alma mater, Nathanael Greene
Academy. He fulfilled the calling God had on his life of speaking grace and truth into the lives of students.

One thing known of Farrett was his love for Jesus. His steadfast servitude was unwavering and shined brightly to all who encountered him. Farrett’s heart for his family was demonstrated in his sacrificial love and devotion to his wife and kids and their friends. Farrett loved his kids at NGA and New Hope dearly, taking delight in getting to work with the youth daily. He had a zeal for life and was known to live everyday vibrantly. In his free time, Farrett could be seen cheering on his beloved Georgia Bulldogs, even if it meant in the pouring rain. No matter the circumstances that arose in life, Farrett put his trust in the Lord, and remained faithful in his walk daily to know Him and make Him known by living out the testimony of Colossians 3:4, “When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.”

In addition to his mother, Kay Boswell of Greensboro, GA, he is survived by his wife, Amy Dunagan Boswell, of Watkinsville, GA, his children, Victoria Boswell, Rob Boswell, Jeff Thurmond, Cam Thurmond, Oakley Warren, and Ben Warren; a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Cotton Boswell, brother, George Robert Boswell and first wife, Cresta Boswell.
