Ethan Ryan Yearwood

Ethan Ryan Yearwood of Greensboro, Ga, died on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at the age of 17. Born in Athens, GA on August 3, 2004, he was the beloved son of Adam Ryan Yearwood and Amy Watson Yearwood. He was a senior at Nathanael Greene Academy in Siloam, GA where he was a star athlete in both baseball and especially basketball, achieving many offensive and defensive awards. Last season, in 11th grade, Ethan reached the impressive feat of 1000 points during one of his basketball games. He was considered a “silent leader of the team” and a “team player” by coaches and fellow teammates. Ethan was also a member of the Beta Club 9th-12th grades, and was elected as Vice-President in 12th grade. He had just recently been named Mr. NGA, further illustrating the adoration that the teachers and students had for Ethan. When he wasn’t busy with school, sports, and friends, he helped his family at Yearwood’s Auto Service as an automotive technician. Ethan attended Wesley Chapel Wesleyan Church in Greensboro, GA and Watkinsville First Baptist Church in Watkinsville, GA. 

In addition to his parents, Adam and Amy Yearwood, Ethan is survived by his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Mary Agnes Yearwood of Greensboro, GA and maternal grandparents Betty and Mike Watts of Union Point, GA, Bill and Barbara Watson of Crawfordville, GA, a number of other relatives, including Shane, Emily, and Riley Yearwood of Savannah, GA, Brad, Sonya, Courtney, and Noah Watson of Union Point, GA and many many friends, including the love of his life, Ellie Cabaniss.

Among so many things, Ethan will be remembered as a genuinely kind, patient, steadfast, faithful, and hardworking young man. He loved life to the fullest, and his smile instantly lit up a room. He treated everyone around him with kindness and respect. He was light-hearted and always ready for an adventure. He was an exceptional young man who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. 

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Nathanael Greene Academy Gym, 4731 Highway 15 South, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. Farrett Boswell officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Cole Stewart, Timothy McCannon, Noah Ward, Cole Nation, Austin Stewart, and Dane Amerson. Honorary pallbearers are Alex Gabriel, Brandon Chambers, Blake Lanier, Nick Crews, Nathan Shuman, Mason Bear, Andrew Marshall, Jaxson Edwards, Tucker York, Mitchell Johnson, Loren Johnson, Josh Boswell, Zander Williams, and Cory Lord. The family will receive friends Monday, October 11, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am at the Nathanael Greene Academy Gym. The family requests that any memorials be made to Nathanael Greene Academy, P.O.
