Elizabeth Ann Cameron “Betty” Porter, age 78, of Eatonton, GA passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing in Eatonton, GA. Born in Des Moines, Iowa on June 12, 1943, she was one of two daughters born to the late Fred Cameron and Antonia Strouhal Cameron. She had a half-sister, Carole Cameron. Betty was a graduate of Roosevelt High School Atlanta, GA. She retired as a medical receptionist for Dr. Hymavati S. Mikkilineni in Riverdale, GA. She moved to Eatonton, GA from Riverdale after living there for over forty years to be close to her daughter. Betty was an avid reader and enjoyed sitting on her back porch where she watched the birds and nature with her beloved husband Paul of 32 years. They loved their dogs, especially Jake, Jack, and Bo.
Survivors include her daughters, Sharon Nance White (Dennis) of Greensboro, GA and Kathie Nance Askey of McDonough, GA. David Porter (Kathy) of Chapin, SC. Grandchildren: Matthew White, Megan Crane, William White, Taylor Upole and Kylie Upole, Stacy Porter, Katie Starr, Jesse Kington, and eight great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Sullivan of Tallahassee, FL; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Hugh Porter who passed away on March 4th of this year and a sister, Carol Cameron.
Graveside Services will be held, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 1:00 p. m. at the Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Dennis Garner officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
