Elise (Corry) Edmonds

     Elise Corry Edmonds, age 101, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2022. She was a resident of Pruitt Health in Washington, GA. Elise was born in Siloam, GA on October 17, 1921 the only daughter of seven children born to the late Paul Bunkley Corry, Sr. and Ivy Mann Corry. She graduated from Greensboro High School, North Georgia College and Georgia State University.  She had a Bachelor’s, Master’s and a Teacher’s degree. Elise married James Owen Edmonds, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1984. For a period of time they lived in Decatur where she was the manager of the Georgia Auto Licenses Department and also sold real estate. With the help of her son Jimmy and his wife Cindy, she was able to live at home until the last two weeks. She was a homemaker who enjoyed raising her only son, Jimmy and helping her husband.  Mrs. Edmonds was a charter member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church and had also been a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church as a child.  She loved working in her yard and garden.
      She is survived by her son, James Owen "Jimmy" Edmonds, Jr. and wife Cindy of Greensboro, GA; grandchildren, Jimmy Edmonds, III and his wife Robbie, Josh Edmonds and his wife Catherine and Adam McKinley and his wife Brooke; great grandchildren, Jake Edmonds and his wife Megan, Bethany Edmonds Harris and her husband Taylor, Taylor Edmonds, Bailey Edmonds and his wife Katie, Caitlin Edmonds, Caleb Edmonds and Carson McKinley; great, great grandchildren, Kinsley Barr, Jaxon Edmonds and Jenna Oaklynn Edmonds; and many great friends .  She was preceded in death by her husband, James Owen Edmonds, Sr.; and all of her brothers, James Calvin Corry, Henry Thomas Corry, Alvin Theo Corry, William Rhodes Corry, II, Floyd Franklin Corry and Paul Bunkley Corry, Jr.
       Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodville Cemetery, 1191 Peachtree Avenue E., Woodville, GA 30669 with Rev. Paul Volpitto officiating.  Visitation will be held at Callaway Funeral Home in Union Point from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Jimmy Edmonds, Josh Edmonds, Adam McKinley, Bailey Edmonds, Taylor Edmonds and Jake Edmonds.
