Eleanor Durham Flynn

Eleanor Durham Flynn, age 99, formerly of St Petersburg, FL passed peacefully into life eternal on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at The Harbor at Harmony Crossing in Eatonton, GA. Eleanor was born in Collingswood, NJ on May 15, 1920, to the late Joseph Cyrus Durham and Evelyn May Webb Durham. She graduated in 1938 from Haddonfield High School in New Jersey. After traveling and working in a variety of locations for several years she returned to New Jersey to work for the Office of Price Administration throughout the war. It is there that she met her husband Thomas Curtis Flynn. They lived in Palmyra, NJ from 1947 until 1972 while operating a family business, Flynn’s Camden Electric Supply Company in Cherry Hill, NJ. Upon retiring they moved to St. Petersburg, FL where Eleanor lived until 2015. She then moved to a residential care facility in Georgia to be near her daughter.
While living in Florida Eleanor loved her daily walks and swims at the beach. She was a reader and lifelong highly accomplished hobby seamstress. She had many friends with whom she enjoyed spending time and traveling.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas Curtis Flynn (1992) and brothers, Carl Durham (2002) and Norman Durham (2014). She is survived by a daughter, Abby Flynn (husband Alan Slutsky) of Greensboro, GA and a son T. Curtis Flynn Jr (wife Carol) of Freeport, FL; three grandchildren, Alison Steen (husband KB), Audrey Angelotti (husband David) and Robin Braddam (husband Greg).
Interment at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in St. Petersburg, FL will take place sometime in the future at the family’s convenience. Memorial donations may be made to Compassus Hospice 2470 Daniells Bridge Rd. Bldg. 100 Suite 171, Athens, GA 30606 or to the Humane Society of your choice.
