Edward Joseph Bronkhorst, Jr.

Edward Joseph Bronkhorst, Jr. died at The Glen At Lake Oconee Village on December 23, 2019, at the age of 80. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on October 23, 1939, he was the son of the late Edward Joseph Bronkhorst, Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Rogers Bronkhorst. Ed graduated from Braintree High School in Massachusetts and East Coast Aerotech. On June 3, 1962, he married the former  Judith Elizabeth Lantery and moved to Phoenix, AZ for two years. Then he moved back to Weymouth, Massachusetts to go to school for two years. He worked for Northeast Airlines in Boston which was bought by Delta and in 1972 they moved to Georgia. For twenty-five years they lived in Griffin.  He was a member of Lake Oconee Lutheran Church.  Gardening and yard work were two of his favorite activities.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of forty-seven years at the time of her death in  2009, Judy Bronkhorst; and a brother, Dick Bronkhorst.  Survivors include  three sons, Edward  “Ted” Joseph Bronkhorst III of Milner, GA, David Aaron Bronkhorst and wife Kris of Fayetteville, GA and Andrew Scott Bronkhorst and wife Kellie of Woodstock, GA; a brother, Mike Bronkhorst; a sister; Carol Reams and four grandchildren, Nicklas Bronkhorst, Gavin Bronkhorst, Cameron Bronkhorst and Dylan Bronkhorst. Edward also leaves behind many friends both in Massachusetts as well as in Georgia.
