Edith Carol (Berryman) Ashley

Edith Carol Berryman Ashley of Greensboro, GA, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024, at The Glen At Lake Oconee in Greensboro.  She was 77. Carol was born August 16, 1947, in Birmingham, AL to the late James Black Berryman and Edith Alexander Berryman.  She attended Baker Elementary School, Fairfield Junior High and graduated from Fairfield High School. In 2004 she married Wayne Ashley in Birmingham, AL.  At the time of his death, they had been married twenty-six years.  Over her working career she worked for Central Bank, Compass Bank, and retired from BBVA Bank as the banking Analyst in the proof department. They moved to Greensboro in 2009, where she attended First Methodist Church of Greensboro and Lake Oconee.  

Survivors include a brother, Jim Berryman and his wife Patsy of Athens, GA; nephew, Jay Berryman (Kate); niece, Jill Shearer; great great nephews, Bo, Banks, and Grey Berryman and James Shearer; other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Wayne Ashley and her parents, James and Edith Berryman, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lacy Barber.

Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Valhalla Cemetery, 5317 Bessemer Super Highway  Midfield, AL. 35228.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
