Edith Camilla Taylor Meeler

Edith Camilla Taylor Meeler, age 77, of New Ellenton, SC, died Thursday, February 9, 2006 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home in Aiken, SC. Born November 1, 1928 in Greene County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Joel Holcomb Taylor and Lucy Ruth Story Taylor. She grew up in White Plains, but had spent the last forty-eight years in New Ellenton, SC. In 1945 she graduated from Greensboro High School and in 1947 from Athens Business College. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the White Plains United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Mason Meeler, of New Ellenton, SC; two daughters, Janice M. Davis and husband Bert of Watkinsville, GA and Lynn M. Nelson and husband Larry of Aiken, SC; two sons, Kenneth T. Meeler and wife Beth of Aiken, SC and Ronald H. Meeler and wife Ida of Aiken, SC; a sister, Ann Taylor Cook and husband Lewis of Washington, GA; a brother, Wayne S. Taylor and wife Betty of White Plains, GA; eight grandchildren, Dana Davis of Snellville, GA, Andy Davis of Athens, GA, Kim Owens of Aiken, SC, Hope Meeler of Aiken, SC, Kelly Nelson of Summerville, SC, Ben Nelson of Aiken, SC, Brianna Meeler of Aiken, SC and Brooke Meeler of Aiken, SC; and a great grandaughter, Kayla Owens of Aiken, SC. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joel David Taylor.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at White Plains Baptist Church. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
