Edgar William Ortiz, Jr.

Edgar William Ortiz, Jr., age 64, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro.  Edgar was born June 23, 1955 in Santurce, Puerto Rico to the late Edgar William Ortiz, Sr. and Connie Pomares Ortiz.  He graduated from Senn High School while living in Chicago, IL.  On August 29, 1981 he married the former Glenda Jane Cannon.  Edgar became an electrician and worked for Bold Controls retiring in 2017 after a long and successful career.  After retiring he moved from Dacula, GA to Greensboro.  All of his life he was deeply involved in music both singing and playing.  He could play most any instrument.  Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them and friends. 

In addition to his wife of thirty-nine years, Glenda Ortiz of Greensboro, GA, Edgar is survived by his three children, Ronnie Cannon of Buford, GA, Misty Brown (James) of Gadsden, AL and Andrea Ortiz of Buford, GA; six grandchildren, Andre Cannon, Tessa Winston, Destiny Kirkland, Isabel Bryant, Gabriella Ortiz-Rave and Wyatt Cannon; brother, Rudy Ortiz; three sisters, Chambe Ortiz, Sandra Puente (Rick) and Lizette Ortiz; his second mother, Alma Ortiz along with many extended family members and friends.
