On September 26, 2022, Dwain Talmadge Anderson of Greensboro, GA, beloved husband and father, passed away. He was eighty-four years old. Born in Nicholls, GA, he was the eldest child of the late Robert Anderson and Vonice Meeks Anderson. Dwain graduated from Douglas, GA High School in 1956, and proudly served in the United States Navy where he was a graduate of the U.S. Navy Electronic Technician School. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. After working for various businesses, including Coca-cola, Schweppes, and General Electric, he formed his own company, DA Associates. His entrepreneurial spirit stayed with him until his retirement.
Dwain moved from Charlotte, NC to Greensboro, GA to enjoy lake life. It was in the Lake Oconee area where he met and married the former Ellen Jo Crabb on July 3, 2005. Dwain was a member of Lake Oconee Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, GA. He was an avid Corvette and power tool enthusiast. He had a lifelong passion for dogs, especially Boxers, and he had a keen interest in all wildlife.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his son, Keith Dwain Anderson (Tim Merrill) of Eatonton, GA; daughter, Lora Lyn Frederick (Shawn) of Seneca, SC; grandchildren, Alex Frederick of Atlanta, GA and Michaela Frederick of Los Angeles, CA; siblings Robert T. Anderson (Dianna), Genevieve Hiott and Barbara Jean Rouse (Glenn); step-daughter, Johnna Hodges of Decatur, GA; and step-son, Eric Hodges (Kathy) of Sylvania, OH; and many friends. Preceding him in death was his brother, Gary Anderson, and his faithful dog, Nick. Dwain will be greatly missed by all.
A celebration of Dwain’s life will be held on his 85th birthday at the Del Webb Pavillion on October 30, 2022, 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. He will be interned at Westminister Cemetery in Peachtree City, GA. McCommons Funeral Home, Greensboro, GA, (706) 453-2626, is in charge of the arrangements.
