Dr. M. Robert Lowe

Dr. M. Robert Lowe of Greensboro, GA passed away peacefully on Friday, December 24, 2021.  He was 85.  Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Maynard Forrester Lowe and Antonia D. Parszik Lowe.  Bob graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School and then joined the U.S. Marine Corp. serving three years as a sergeant during the Korean War.  After an Honorable Discharge, he enrolled at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY where he was elected a member of Mu Gamma Tau, the national honorary society that recognizes excellence in the field of management. He received a BBA and MBA from the University and continued his involvement with Hofstra for many years.

He began a career at Pfizer, Inc. which spanned a 33-year period of service in Human Resources in many areas of the organization culminating as Vice President for Retiree Relations.  He was especially proud of his assignment in mainland China as a member of a start-up team charged with the responsibility of establishing Pfizer, Inc. as a business entity in that country.

After retiring from Pfizer he studied to receive his Ph.D in Management from California Coast University.  His passion was always education and after moving to Greensboro he was on the faculty of GCSU in Milledgeville as a part-time Professor of human resources and organizational behavior for 10 years.  After that he served as a Trustee of the GCSU Foundation for many years.  He and his wife, Linda, established the Lowe Scholarship for deserving students who work at Reynolds and attend the college.   
 
Dr. Lowe is survived by his wife, Linda Hansen Lowe whom he married in 1991 and his children, Robert James Lowe of Greensboro, GA and Patricia Mitchell of North Merrick, NY; sister, Charlotte Bould of Port Charlotte, FL; grandchildren, Courtney Mitchell, Kevin Mitchell and Gregory Mitchell and his wife Maggie; a niece and three nephews; and many good friends.

Private burial services were held at Greenview Cemetery in Greensboro, GA.  Please make any memorials to a local no kill humane society.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
