Dorothy Jean (Crawford) Gunn

Dorothy Jean Crawford Gunn, age 77, of Greensboro, Georgia died on Tuesday, January 24, 2023.  She was born in Griffin, Georgia on October 13, 1945.  Jean was the daughter of the late William Matt Crawford and Ruby Olemae Kimbrell Crawford.  She married James Harold Gunn, Sr.  Jean worked as a seamstress for Chipman Union.  When she was raising her children she attended West End Baptist Church and later went to Walker United Methodist Church.  Fishing, gardening and growing flowers were her favorite things to do.  She loved any animal especially cats, dogs and ducks.  Jean was a loving mother, whose greatest joy was being with her family and friends talking and catching up on the news. 

Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, James Gunn, Sr.; sons, James Harold “Doc” Gunn, Jr. and Joel Gunn (Kim); grandchildren, Hannah Dickson (William), Joshua Gunn and Tanner Gunn; great grandchildren, Nova Dickson and Paislee Dickson; sister, Teresa Floyd; a number of other relatives and friends.
 
A funeral service will be held on Friday at 12:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, Georgia.  The Rev. Wayne Usry will officiate.  The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.  Serving as pallbearers are Doc Gunn, Joel Gunn, James Gunn, William Dickson, Joshua Gunn and Robert Floyd.  Interment will follow in Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
