Dorothy Mae Armor Tumlin, known by her friends and loved ones as “Nanny Dot”, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away Monday, October 21, 2024, at her residence with family. She was 98. Dot, the daughter of the late Rueben Willis and Hallie Marie Gillian Armor was born November 9, 1925, in Greensboro and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Greensboro High School and after graduation worked for Wellington Puritan Mills as a packer. Her greatest enjoyment was taking care of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She was a natural caregiver who loved her family and enjoyed helping others. Dot was a member of West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Lindsey, Debra Tumlin, and Catherine Caldwell; grandchildren, Jay Lindsey (Rene); Kim Lindsey (Jamie), Josh Lindsey, Missy Kent, Rusty Caldwell, Shane Moore, Pam Moore, and Joe Moore; great-grandchildren, Taylor Lindsey (Michelle), Dylan Ellis (Ashlyn), Lindsey Ellis, Lauren Lindsey, John Bentley Lindsey, Colton Lindsey, Gradon Lindsey, Jacob Caldwell and Erin Kent; great, great grandchildren, Waylon Lindsey, Wren Lindsey, Walker Ellis, Maren Ellis, Ella Underwood, Maeli Johnson and Houston Armour; and a number of other relatives. She is also survived by her loving caregivers, Ethel Craig, Christi Christopher and her pet dog, Marshall. In addition to her husband George Louis Tumlin, Sr. she was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Bo Lindsey and Jerry Caldwell; daughters, Brenda Williford and Bobbie Moore; sister, Rachel Jones and brother, Talmadge Armor.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at McCommons Funeral Home Chapel, 109 W. Broad Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Josh Lindsey officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Lindsey, Taylor Lindsey, Dylan Ellis, Wayne Lindsey, John Bentley Lindsey, Colton Lindsey and Gradon Lindsey.
