Dorothy (McKinley) Stewart

Dorothy McKinley Stewart, age 93, of Greensboro, Georgia, died Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Legacy Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Greene County on December 1, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Carlos Perks McKinley and Ruby Esther Phelps McKinley. She attended school in Penfield and graduated from Greensboro High School. She married Milton Lewis Stewart on December 23, 1946. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and a great vegetable gardener. Mrs. Dorothy was devoted to her church, White Plains Baptist Church, where she taught the Girl’s Auxiliary and served on the flower committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Lewis Stewart in July of 2005; her son, Richard Stewart in February of 2020; and her sisters, Betty Kelly and Ruby Smith. She is survived by a son, Charles Stewart of White Plains, GA; daughter, Brenda Stewart Stone (Charles) of Milledgeville, GA; grandchildren, Chuck Stone, Elizabeth Stone, Paige Deaver and Kim Daniel; great grandchildren, Abigail Daniel, Reid Daniel, Wyatt Daniel and Evans Deaver; other relatives and friends.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 a. m. at the Siloam Cemetery, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. Curtiss Moore officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Ken Cawthon, Ken Stewart and Jamie Stewart. The family requests that any memorials be made to the White Plains Baptist Church, P. O. Box 38, White Plains, GA 30678.
