Doris Louise McDonald, age 81, of Athens, GA, formerly of Greensboro, died Thursday, May 12, 2005 at Athens Heritage Nursing Center after several years of sickness. Born in Putnam County on June 1, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Tom Everett McDonald and Leila Twilley McDonald. She graduated from Greensboro High School and attended Athens Business School. During her working career she was a secretary for the Veterans Administration. When she was able, she attended Athens Bible Church.
She is survived by a sister, Lorena McDonald Lee and husband Billy of Athens, GA; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 2:30 p. m. at McCommons Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow at Greensboro City Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Bob Beeland, Comer Tolbert, Jim Vinson, Quenton Hadden, Johnny Hawks and Wallace Patton.
