Doris Eunice Lacey Corry
Doris Eunice Lacey Corry, age 98, of Siloam, Georgia, died on Monday, September 22, 2014 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro. Born in Powelton, GA on April 2, 1916 she was the daughter of the late Grady Pierce Lacey and Cordelia Stewart Lacey. She grew up and attended school in Powelton. She was a homemaker helping her husband on the family farm. She was a faithful member of the Siloam Presbyterian Church which she dearly loved and later attended the Siloam Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. She was an excellent cook, loved gardening and growing flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and made many of the families' clothes.
In addition to her husband, Henry Thomas Corry, she was preceded in death by a brother, Pierce Lacey; and sister, Annie Earlean Seals. Mrs. Corry is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Sue Bell and husband Tony of Siloam, GA; grandson, Marvin Bell and wife Belinda and their children, Kaitlin and Hannah Bell of Siloam, GA; and her special friend and caregiver, Jackie Hall; and a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Siloam Presbyterian Church/Dolvin Memorial Chapel, Church Street, Siloam, GA 30665 with Rev. James Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the Siloam Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Wayne Corry, Johnny Eley, Dock Shelnutt, William Broughton, Terry O’Neal and Andy Lacey. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Chitwood, Dockie Shelnutt and Willard Cooper. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until time for the service Tuesday morning at Siloam Presbyterian Church.
