Donna (Hulsey) Merritt

Donna Hulsey Merritt, age 74, of Greensboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on April 17, 1951, in Greensboro, Donna was the daughter of the late Jesse Jefferson “Jake” Hulsey and Lillie Frances Wheeler Hulsey. She was a graduate of Sparta High School. For many years, she worked as a computer marker for Encompass in McDonough, GA, retiring in 2006. She married the love of her life, Terry Merritt, on June 2, 1968, and they made their home together in Greensboro.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband Terry Merritt of Greensboro; and her children Dustin Merritt and his girlfriend Amanda, Christopher Merritt and his wife Alicia, Jessica Merritt, and Tracey Merritt and his wife Lindsey. She also leaves behind her sister, Wanda Hulsey Kitchens, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her kitten, Larry.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Tracy Jefferson Hulsey and her beloved dog, Cookie.

Funeral Services will be held at McCommons Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Usry officiating. Interment will follow in White Plains Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday night at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Clay Leach, Keith Wright, Josh Copelan, Robby McCannon, Morgan Dupree, Levon Kitchens, Adam Hulsey, and Slade Fleming.
