Donald Joseph Onesto
Donald Joseph Onesto, 81, of Eatonton, GA, died Wednesday, September 30, 2014 at his residence. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 15, 1933 to the late Anthony Onesto and Elizabeth Shuckford Onesto. He was a graduate of Parker High School. Starting to work at the age of 18, he spent most of his career with Tyler and Hippach Glass Company as a glazier. He retired in 1993 after 40 years of service. After retirement he moved from Richton Park, IL to Loganville, GA and in 2011 he moved to Eatonton, GA to be close to his daughter. He had many hobbies and interests, but really enjoyed fishing, bird watching, especially humming birds, gardening and growing flowers. He was a member of Christ Our King and Savior Catholic Church in Greensboro, a member of Glazier Architectural Metal and Glass Workers Local Union No. 27 in Chicago and the Oakland Athletic Club.
He is survived by two daughters, Lynda Crowley (Mike) of Eatonton, GA and Nancy Malia (Leonard) of Elwood, IL; two sons, Donald Onesto (Dianne) of Acworth, GA and David Onesto (Sharon) of Plainfield, IL; grandchildren, Michael J. Crowley, Scott Crowley, Steven Crowley, Donnie Onesto, Daniel Onesto, Megan Paganessi, Patrick Malia, Brittany Pfizenmaier, Jessica Haake, David Onesto and Gianna Onesto; great grandchildren, Miranda Pfizenmaier, Haylee Pfizenmaier, Collin Haake and Caleb Haake.
A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at McCommons Chapel with Rev. Bert Matthews officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12:00 p.m. until time for the service at McCommons Funeral Home in Greensboro.
