David Joseph Novak

David Joseph Novak, age 79, of Greensboro, GA passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023, at his home with family. His long and fulfilled life was devoted to his two greatest loves—his sweetheart of 55 years and their growing family. David was known for his kindness, humility, and never missing an opportunity to laugh. He suffered many physical setbacks throughout his life but endured them with courage and a positive attitude. He loved classic cars and classic movies—his favorite was “It’s A Wonderful Life” and David would always acknowledge that he truly had one.

He was born January 4, 1944, in Tacoma, WA, one of three children of the late Joseph and Louise Marie Deleu Novak.  After graduating from Jordon High School in Long Beach, CA, he began a successful career with Hughes Aircraft Company as an Expediter retiring in 1999.  On July 20, 1968, he married Lynne Romaine Storm residing in Long Beach, CA, and later in Huntington Beach, CA. David and Lynne were active Bethel Grace Baptist Church members in Bellflower, CA for over thirty years and developed many cherished friendships there. They moved to Lake Oconee 7 1/2 years ago where he spent many happy hours with family, friends, and his favorite pastimes; watching old movies and golf cart drives to the lake with his faithful dog for conversation with treasured friends. He was definitely a people person and enjoyed being a member of Mike Dawkins Small Group and singing in the choir at Grace Fellowship where he was a member. He was also a part of Delmen at Del Webb.  

David is survived by his wife, Lynne Novak of Greensboro, GA; sons, Todd David Novak (Kami) of Columbus, OH and Travis John Novak (Stephanie) of Roanoke, TX; sister Jolene Steele (Bill) of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren, Kate, Jane and Mary Novak, and Cole and Riley Novak; along with nieces, nephews, family and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nadine Ayers.

A Memorial Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2023, at Grace Fellowship, 1971 S. Main Street, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Long officiating with a reception following the service.
