David McBride Hawley II

David McBride Hawley II of Conyers, GA died Friday, March 6, 2020 at his residence.  Born in Washington, GA on March 26, 1946 he was the son of Jean Davis Hawley of Union Point, GA and the late Cecil Franklin Hawley.  In 1964 he graduated from Patterson High School and in 1972 from Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA with a degree in Business Administration.  On December 27, 1969 he married the former Teena Rae Dickey.  While Working for the FBI in DC, he was drafted during the Vietnam era and proudly served in the United States Army and was at one time stationed in the DMZ in Korea. David started his career in Pipe, Valves, and Fittings at Hub, Inc.  In 1993 he founded Atlanta Windustrial Co. as owner/president until he retired in 2008.  David was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Conyers and also an ordained minister. He was a member of NAWCC and Woodmen of the World.  He enjoyed working on and collecting watches.  When he was younger he loved to ride bicycles and participated in BRAG (Bicycle Ride Across Georgia) for several years.

In addition to his mother, Jean Hawley of Union Point, GA, he is survived by his wife of  fifty years, Teena Rae Dickey Hawley of Conyers, GA; sons, Davis Matthew Hawley (Sherry) of Athens, GA and Joshua Christian Hawley (Stephanie) of Loganville, GA; grandchildren, Joel Teeple “favorite employed grandson”, Tenley Bleu Hawley “favorite granddaughter” and Jacob Chay Hawley “favorite unemployed grandson”; sisters, Peggy Cecilia Latham (Steve) of Lilburn, GA and Marianne Hawley Freeman (Randy) of Locust Grove, GA; brother, Paul Martin Hawley (Karen) of Woodstock, GA; other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his father Cecil Franklin Hawley in 2019.

A Graveside Service and Celebration of his Life with military honors will be held Sunday, March 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Karen Williamson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Goss, Ryan Freeman, Randy Freeman, Adam Hawley, Steven Latham and Chan Dickey.  The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church, 103 W.
