David Carruth Obituary

David A. Carruth of White Plains, GA passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital in Greensboro, GA. He was 72.  He was born on January 18, 1947 in Atlanta, GA to the late Herman Felton Carruth Sr. and Mildred Nash Carruth.  He graduated from Tucker High School in 1965. David married Charlotte Reynolds on July 12, 1963 and they made their home in Loganville.  He worked as a lineman for 40 years with Georgia Power from 1965 to 2005.  He was a member of the Corinth Christian Church of Loganville.  He enjoyed hunting in his spare time.     

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Carruth of White Plains, GA; two daughters, Chanda Hardman and her husband Ricky of Greensboro, GA; Pam Billingsley and husband Jeff of Gray, GA;  four grandchildren, Jake and Matthew Billingsley of Gray, GA, Emily Hardman Shelby of Greensboro and Clayton Hardman of Gray and one great grandchild; Olivia Shelby; a sister, Barbara Garnto and  sister-in-law, Alberta Carruth; and a number of  nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.  In addition to his parents, Herman Felton Carruth Sr. and Mildred Nash, he was preceded in death by his brother, Herman Carruth Jr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00p.m. at McCommons Chapel, 109 West Broad St., Greensboro, GA 30642. Donations may be made to the Oconee Regional Humane Society, 1020 Park Avenue, Suite 101, Greensboro, GA 30642. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
