Darrell Wayne Hunt

Darrell Wayne Hunt of Gainesville, GA, died December 9, 2023 at the age of 71. Born in Greensboro, GA on August 16, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles William Hunt and Mattie Frances McGinty Hunt.  Darrell attended North Georgia Technical College and Dekalb College.  He proudly served his country in Germany in the United States Army. Darrell was a mechanic and carpenter for Brenau University for many years retiring in 2018.  It was his passion to be outside hunting and his greatest enjoyment came when he was surrounded by his family. 
 
Survivors include his daughters, Kasey Marie Hunt and Mattie Kaitlyn Hunt both of Cleveland, GA; sister, Doris Rudisill; a number of other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jewel Bryan, Ramona Lunsford, Carol Hunt, Haywood Hunt, Pete Hunt, Richard Hunt and Robert Hunt.  
 
Graveside Services will be held, Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, 3400 Penfield Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Marc Lhowe officiating.   Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McCommons Funeral Home. Serving as pallbearers are Lee Hunt, Brian Hunt, Mark Hunt, Joey Hunt, Matt Hunt and Eric Hunt.
