Curtis Eugene Brooks, Jr., age 68, of Greensboro, GA, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Pruitt Health of Macon. A lifelong resident of Greensboro, Curtis was born on April 19, 1957, to the late Curtis Eugene Brooks, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Collins Brooks. Curtis received his education from Greensboro High School. On March 12, 1983, he married Janice Ann O’Neal, and they shared forty-three years of marriage. Curtis worked as a team leader at Chipman Union in Union Point, GA. He enjoyed fishing, but his true passion was listening to music and playing his guitar. He was a devoted, longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Janice Brooks of Greensboro, GA; his children: Curtis Eugene Brooks III (Shelette), George Brooks, John Luther Brooks (Angel), Rebecca Brooks, and Janet Brooks; his sister, Dolores Hardy; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Lee “Dan” Brooks, and his sister, Deborah Jean Brooks.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, 3981 Union Point Highway, Greensboro, GA 30642, with Rev. Gene Vaught officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Brooks, Jonathan Morris, Daniel Vaught, and Joseph Daniel Brooks.
