Comer Columbus Tolbert age 99, of Greensboro, GA died Sunday night, August 17, 2020 at Savannah Court of Lake Oconee in Greensboro. A native of Greene County, he was born October 18, 1920, the son of Obie C. Tolbert and Ada Bryan Tolbert. He served in the US Army during World War II under General Patton in the 11th Armored Division. He also worked at Mary Lelia Cotton Mill and later was a mail carrier for the Greensboro Post Office until he retired. During his retirement his hobbies were fishing, making and repairing clocks and gardening. Comer was a member of Walker United Methodist where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir.
Survivors include his daughter, Kay Stewart (Mark), Woodbine, GA; grandson, Brent Stewart, Palmetto, GA; sisters, Abbie Lee Scoggins of Greensboro, GA and Helen Wright of Blairsville, GA; and serval nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Nona Bell Tolbert; daughter Sue Tolbert Bailey; sister, Ruth Moody; brother, Harold Tolbert and two infant sisters.
Graveside Services will be held Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenview Cemetery, Memorial Drive, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike officiating.
