Clark Howell Cobb, Jr. Born: September 8, 1934 Died: April 3, 2011

He was born in Lindale, Georgia to Marion Peacock Cobb and Clark Howell Cobb, Sr. who preceded him in death along with his one brother, William R. Cobb.

He graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in Augusta, Georgia and from the University of Georgia, School of Pharmacy. Howell was commissioned in the US Army Medical Service Corp. and Army Reserve, reaching the rank of Captain. He retired from The Upjohn Pharmaceutical Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan after 32 years.

He is survived by his wife of 54+ years, Jane McElmurray Cobb and their three children, Clark H. Cobb III (Pilar), Joyce Anne Cowles (Jim) and Henry Clay Cobb (Alice) and his eight grandchildren, Travis Cobb and Morgan Cobb Pye (Ryan), Britton and David Cowles, Brandi and Traci Barrera and Matthew and Haley Cobb, and other nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.

Howell had been very active in the Greensboro Community since retirement in 1990. Howell served as Greene County Registrar, Chairman of the Board of 1st Call Pregnancy Center, served on the Minnie Boswell Hospital Foundation, Chairman of the Greene County Republican Party and member of the UGA Pharmacy Alumni and Lake Country Bulldog Club. He was a mentor in local schools, on the Citizen Involvement Committee, Reynolds Plantation Men''s Golf Association, the Men''s Club, and Tennis Group. Howell was a Volunteer Fireman at Old Salem, worked at the Habitat for Humanity, attended Thursday morning Men''s Bible Study at Reynolds Plantation, was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for many years at various churches, finishing his time at First Baptist Church and presently at Grace Fellowship.

Graveside Service will be at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, Georgia, April 13, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. followed by visitation with the family at Grace Fellowship, Greensboro from 6-8 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on April 14 at Grace Fellowship at 3 p.m. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
