Charles David Rutherford
Charles David Rutherford of Eatonton, GA. passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014 at his home. He was 79. He was born in Waxahachie, TX on February 15, 1935. He was the son of Ed and Edith Rutherford. At 17, he joined the United States Marine Corps and served in Japan during the Korean War. After his enlistment, he returned to Texas and attended SMU. He then worked for Collins Radio in Richardson, TX. In 1970, he moved to the metro-Atlanta area and began his career in residential home construction. In the late 70s, he began Chuck Rutherford Builders. In 1987, he made the Lake Oconee area his permanent home. He enjoyed time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, C. David Rutherford, Jr. of Monticello, GA. and his daughters, Rana Rutherford Fowler of Ellijay, GA. and Pamela Rutherford of Louisiana. His grandchildren are Dallyn Boone Rutherford, Ezra Rutherford, Gabrielle Hendricks and Jake Fowler; a number of other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Walker United Methodist Church, 2730 Walker Church Road, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. John Pike officiating. Interment will follow at Walker United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Long, Wayne Hannah, Tyler Bombich, Scott Pittochelli, James Parker and Justin Mosley. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until time for the service, Monday at Walker United Methodist Church. McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
