Charity Ann (Lindsey) Shockley

Charity Ann Lindsey Shockley, age 46, of Union Point, GA, died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Piedmont Augusta surrounded by her family. A native of Greene County she was born in Greensboro on October 16, 1977 to Donna Sue Saylers Evans and Walter Hoyt Lindsey. She graduated from Greene County Comprehensive High School and continued her education at the University of Alaska in Fairbanks.  On July 22, 2006 she married Christopher David Shockley. She worked as a medical assistant at Medlink. Her many interests included painting, coloring, nature and going to the beach. Charity was an active member of the West End Baptist Church.

In addition to her mother, Sue Evans of Union Point, GA and her father, Hoyt Lindsey of Greensboro, GA, survivors include her husband, Chris Shockley of Union Point, GA; daughters, Alexis Shockley (Dan) of Rockmart, GA and Alyssa Nicole Rutherford of Union Point, GA; son, Jesse Rutherford (Alyssa) of Charlotte, NC; sister, Jady Long (Steven) of Milledgeville, GA; brother, David Evans of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Chloe Evelyn Rutherford, Evelyn Grace Shockley, Easton Edward Fitch and Emerie Claire Fitch, a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 

The family will hold a celebration of Charity’s life Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at West End Baptist Church, 1140 N. Laurel Avenue, Greensboro, GA 30642 with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. They will receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the church.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W.
