Cecilia (Rodriguez Ruiz) de Muñoz

Cecilia Rodriguez Ruiz de Muñoz of Milledgeville, GA passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Piedmont Athens Regional at the age of 93. Cecilia was born in Sesquile, Colombia on January 6, 1930 one of eight children born to the late Benjamin Rodriguez and Eduvigis Ruiz. She had a successful career in the United Nations as a Conference Typist for fifteen years where she travelled all over the world. She lived in Colombia, California and New York most of her life.  In 2012 she moved to Milledgeville, Georgia with her daughter and family, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Cecilia was a very social person easily making friends in her community. She was an avid reader and student of the bible and the English language.
 
Survivors include her son, Mauricio Muñoz (Lisa) of Virginia; daughters, Patricia Muñoz (Luther) of Kaneohe, HI and Lily Vaughn (Joe) of Milledgeville, GA; brother, Alberto Rodriguez Ruiz of Colombia; grandchildren: Gabriel Andres (Athena), Julian, Kyle (Katey), and Rebecca Leilani; great grandchildren: Zoey Sarang, Iris Haneul, Carson, Kinsley, Kennedy, Myla and Harper; many nephews and nieces, numerous relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six of her siblings: Rafael, Jésus, Benjamin, Hernan, Raquel and Jorge.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 11:00AM at Christ Our King & Savior Catholic Church, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA, 30642 with Father Adam Blatt officiating. Graveside services will be held at Honey Creek Woodlands, 2625 Highway 212 S. W., Conyers, GA 30094 on Saturday at 3:00 p.m with Father Michael Silloway.  McCommons Funeral Home, 109 W. Cecilia Rodríguez Ruiz de Milledgeville, GA falleció el sábado 7 de octubre de 2023 en Piedmont Athens Regional a la edad de 93 años. Cecilia nació en Sesquile, Colombia el 6 de enero de 1930 uno de los ocho hijos de Benjamín Rodríguez y Eduvigis Ruiz. Trabajó con éxito en las Naciones Unidas como mecanógrafa de conferencias durante quince años y viajó por todo el mundo. Vivió en Colombia, California y Nueva York la mayor parte de su vida.  En 2012 se mudó a Milledgeville, Georgia con su hija y su familia, y era miembro de la Iglesia Católica del Sagrado Corazón. Cecilia era una persona muy sociable fácilmente haciendo amigos en su comunidad. Era una ávida lectora y estudiante de la Biblia y del idioma inglés.

Le sobreviven su hijo, Mauricio Muñoz (Lisa) de Virginia; hijas, Patricia Muñoz (Luther) de Kaneohe, Hawaii y Lily Vaughn (Joe) de Milledgeville, Georgia; hermano, Alberto Rodriguez Ruiz de Colombia; nietos: Gabriel Andrés (Athena), Julián, Kyle (Katey), y Rebecca Leilani; bisnietos: Zoey Sarang, Iris Haneul, Carson, Kinsley, Kennedy, Myla y Harper; muchos sobrinos y sobrinas, numerosos parientes y muchos amigos. Además de sus padres, le precedieron en la muerte seis de sus hermanos: Rafael, Jesús, Benjamín, Hernán, Raquel y Jorge.

Una misa funeral se celebrará el sábado, 14 de octubre 2023 a las 11:00AM en Cristo Nuestro Rey y Salvador Iglesia Católica, 6341 Lake Oconee Parkway, Greensboro, GA, 30642 con el Padre Adam Blatt oficiando. Los servicios funerarios se celebrarán en Honey Creek Woodlands, 2625 Highway 212 S. W., Conyers, GA 30094 el sábado a las 3:00PM con el Padre Michael Silloway.
