Carolyn (Bodiford) Godbee

Betty Carolyn Godbee, age 85, of Union Point, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Putnam General Hospital in Eatonton. Born on November 1, 1940, in Union Point, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James Wilbur Bodiford and Mattie Lee Lunceford Bodiford. Carolyn was a proud graduate of Union Point High School. Upon being hired as a clerk at the Union Point Post Office, Carolyn worked her way up to Post Mistress of Siloam, White Plains, and finally Tignall. Carolyn retired from the United States Postal Service after 35 years of dedication. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Union Point, participating as long as her health permitted. Carolyn was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished her family.  

Survivors include her sons, Keith Yearwood (Laura) of Union Point, GA; Kris Yearwood (Kristy) of Musella, GA; Chad Godbee (Keri) of Union Point, GA; grandchildren, Erin Yearwood Berry, Craig Yearwood, Kim Yearwood Sanders (Trevor), Ashlynn Guilmartin (Casey), Anslee Godbee, and Adelee Godbee; great-grandchildren Corey Bedsole, Cali Berry, Cambree Berry, Caylum Berry, Leanna Sanders, William Sanders, Cole Sanders, and Amoreena Guilmartin; along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Godbee; son Kelvin Yearwood; sister Jeanette Turner; and brother Malcolm Bodiford.  

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., at Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669, with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating. A visitation will be held at Callaway Funeral Home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers will be Larry Bodiford, Ken Bodiford, Jerry Coker, Paul Coker, Bill Dover, Ricky Jones, and Eric Moore. Callaway Funeral Home, (706) 486-4138, is assisting with arrangements.
