Brenda Inez Brake McQuithy, 55, of the Greshamville Community, died at St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospital on October 2, 2022. She was born September 14, 1967 in Greensboro, Georgia to Myrtle Elizabeth Smith Brake of Union Point, GA and the late "Raddie" Albert “Buster” Brake. When she was younger she lived in Union Point and also Fairbanks, Alaska. She attended school in Oglethorpe County and on December 3, 1993 she married James Michael McQuithy and 15 years ago they moved to the Greshamville Community. At the time of her death she was working at Walmart in Madison where she had worked for the last 15 years. She was a member of the Union Point Worship Center. Brenda enjoyed raising her boys, helping others and could make friends anywhere.
In addition to her mother, Myrtle Brake of Union Point, GA, survivors include her husband of twenty-nine years, Mike McQuithy; sons, Bryan Lee McQuithy and James Anthony “Tony” McQuithy both of Greshamville, Troy Eugene McKain, he wasn't blood but she loved him like a son; siblings, David Brake (Rebecca) of Colbert, GA, Ben Brake of Union Point, GA, Rejoice Lower of Crawford, GA, Wanda Landcaster (Roy) of Union Point, GA, and Melinda Strawser (Rick) of Ludowici, GA. Surviving also are her dogs, Axel and Lady. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Albert "Buster" Brake; sister, Joy Stagdon and brother, Amazing Brake.
Funeral Services will be Friday, October 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Callaway Funeral Home Chapel, 208 N. Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Ben Proulx officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 p.m. until time for the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rhodes Street, Union Point, GA 30669. Serving as pallbearers are Troy McKain, Patrick Nelson, Presley (Elvis) Brown, James Mann, Luke Smith and Ricky Feathers. Honorary Pallbearer James Anthony McQuithy. Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
