Brad Nicholson Obituary

Brad Franklin Nicholson of Union Point, GA, died on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at his home with his loving family. Born in Des Moines, IA on September 12, 1954, he was the son of Kay Van Kirk Nicholson of Union Point, GA and the late Daniel Nicholson. Brad graduated from Washington Wilkes Comprehensive High School in Washington, GA.  Six years ago he moved back to Georgia and on July 22, 2019 he married the former Audrey Lyn Callaway of Union Point, GA.  For many years he worked as a mechanic on car engines and retired in 2017 from Mazda.   He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Union Point, GA.  Most of his life he enjoyed tinkering and building.  He also loved taking photographs. (He literally has hundreds.)

In addition to his wife Audrey Lyn Nicholson of Union Point, GA; he is survived by his mother, Kay Van Kirk Nicholson of Union Point, GA; children, Steven Nicholson and Jenna Nicholson both of Thomson, GA; two sisters, Susan Nicholson Nichols (Stuart) of Union Point, GA and Danille Nicholson Espy (Carleton) of Pensacola, FL; two brothers, Eric Nicholson (Angela) of Washington, GA and Phillip Nicholson of Thomson, GA; three grandchildren; a number of other relatives and many friends.

The family will hold a memorial service to celebrate Brad’s life Saturday, October 3, 2020 at  2:00 p.m. at Bethesda Baptist Church, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669 with Rev. Bruce Lovin officiating.  The family requests that any memorials be made to Bethesda Baptist Church, P. O. Box 302, 1560 Bethesda Church Road, Union Point, GA 30669.  Callaway Funeral Home, 208 N.
